| An MP2 Research Group Workshop The Workshop - The Staff of the MP2 Research Group, in conjunction with Associates and Members of the Group in Maine, have created The Maine Pegmatite Workshop. The seven day event is an educational workshop, studying the intricacies of granite pegmatites in the world, their mineralizations and paragenesis. For eight hours each day, the Workshop has classroom and field-trip sessions, with time allocated for mineral specimen collecting at each locale visited. Whether a beginner or an advanced enthusiast of pegmatites, all levels of expertise and experience will benefit from the current information and new theories presented and discussed each day. As often as possible, the information presented is reinforced visually by the daily field trips. | ![]() Elbaite, "Blue Hat" Greenwood, Maine |

The Location - Maine . . . need we say more? ![]() Skip and some of the Workshop - 02 registrants in discussions, . . . with a view! The venue for the Maine Pegmatite Workshop is at Poland Mining Camps, Poland, Maine. Centrally located within the pegmatite belt of Oxford and Androscoggin Counties, the venue offers us access to many pegmatite locations closed to the general public. The relaxed atmosphere at Poland Mining Camps, plus it's excellent facilities full of mineral specimens, equipment and local history, make this the optimum location to work out of for a week. | |
