Overview of our Scintag XDS 2000,
X-ray Diffractometer

Basic Features
X-ray diffraction methods are used to identify minerals and other crystalline phases from interatomic spacings. The MP2 Research Group is equipped with a Scintag XDS 2000 X-ray Diffractometer for this method.

Analytical Features
A batch of up to twelve samples may be run, each with different scan ranges and rates. An extensive database of minerals and other inorganic compounds can be searched for potential matches. Also, algorithms are present for cell edge dimensions, quantitative analysis, crystallinity, and crystallite size analysis.
